“Our Us and Them Tour lasted three years…At every gig we did an encore after the main show closed with Comfortably Numb…the encore was always Mother…I can’t remember why I decided to start doing other songs?…Anyway, at some point after the end of the tour…I started thinking, “It could make an interesting album, all those encores”…“The Encores”. ”Yeah, has a nice ring to it!” Then…I’m in England doing the Ginger Baker tribute gig one Tuesday night at the Hammersmith Odeon with Eric Clapton and…the following Saturday marching from The Australian Embassy to Parliament Square to make a speech in support of Julian Assange, when bugger me, Covid…Schlummmm! For me it was Friday March 13th 2020. Lockdown! So much for the “Encores” project. Unless… We’ve tacked C. Numb on the end of the collection, as an appropriate exclamation point in closing this circle of love.” – Roger Waters

Introduction from Tony

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 01/06/2023 by Tony R01/06/2023

Hi everyone,
I’d like to introduce myself! My name is Tony and I have been a part of AFG since 2006 just as a 16 year old boy I remember lurking the forums and being impressed by the fandom and taken in by the lovely community as one of their own. Pink Floyd has created many long lasting friendships and brought me so much joy for almost 20+ years. To say I love Pink Floyd would be an understatement.

I love all versions of the band and their solo careers. I fully support each and every member in their past and current endeavors and I aim to make AFG a family oriented and welcoming place for all fans and continue the good nature of the site in which Col founded since 1998. I am honored to have the privilege to be site director. I want to thank those who recommended me for the job, I love you dearly and I will not let anyone down. This is my passion and after all we are here to celebrate the legacy created by David, Nick, Roger, Rick and of course Syd.

Thank you, my line is always open to everybody! and stay tuned for some exciting giveaways and interviews in the near future!! You’re going to love what we have in store.

Love,

Tony

Before We Go On

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 26/05/2023 by Col T26/05/2023

Just before I re-launch the site with it’s new site director I wish to say a big THANK YOU to Liam Creedon our former site director.

Liam took over this role in 2016 and gave 7 years of his life keeping the site up to date. He covered many many aspects of the Pink Floyd world.

In all I estimate that Liam published just over 900 articles on this site, no mean feat. Unfortunately when his account was closed all the work he had done defaulted over to me. But make no mistake, any articles published between 2016 and April 2023 was Liam’s work and nobody can take that away from him.

All the best for your future Liam and THANK YOU.

Col T
