Richard Wright Wet Dream Remix 2023

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 29/06/2023 by Tony R04/07/2023

Richard Wright / Wet Dream reissue – SuperDeluxeEdition Richard Wright’s debut solo album ‘Wet Dream’ was remixed by Steven Wilson and is due out on CD and streaming platforms on July 28th, 2023 what would of been Rick’s 80th birthday!

Steven has announced:

My remix of Richard Wright’s ‘Wet Dream’ will be released on CD and streaming platforms on what would have been Richard’s 80th birthday, 28th July. Deep blue transparent marbled vinyl and blu-ray formats follow on 29th September. The blu-ray additionally includes 5.1 and Dolby Atmos mixes as well as never-before-seen personal archive videos. The new mix additionally includes 2 extra passages of music that were edited out of the original mix.

Most people know that Pink Floyd have always been my favourite band, so it was a real honour to be commissioned by Richard’s children Gala and Jamie Wright to remix this relatively underrated and beautiful entry in the Floyd canon. For anyone hearing the album for the first time it will become apparent just how much of Richard’s DNA runs through Pink Floyd. His distinctive rhythm patterns, signature keyboard sounds, vocals, jazz influences, and style of play exude throughout. All formats feature images and brand-new artwork commissioned and art-directed by Gala and Jamie and designed by Carl Glover. The original Hipgnosis artwork features in the vinyl booklet.

Guy commissioned a “That’s All Folks!” t-shirt to wear on David Gilmour’s Rattle That Lock tour in 2015/2016 based on David’s t-shirt from the early 70’s, as seen in ‘Live at Pompeii’ where David is seen jamming Echoes in the studio footage. Now In Theaters – Squaring The Circle (The Story Of Hipgnosis)

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 12/06/2023 by Tony R12/06/2023

Squaring the Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis)' Review: Indelible Images by Design - The New York Times
Squaring the Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis)
Now playing in theaters

Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey “Po” Powell form the iconic album art design studio Hipgnosis and become rock royalty during the 1970s. They create some of the most recognizable album covers of all time, including Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.”

Celebrated photographer, creative director and filmmaker Anton Corbijn’s first feature documentary SQUARING THE CIRCLE (THE STORY OF HIPGNOSIS) tells the story of Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey “Po” Powell, the creative geniuses behind the iconic album art design studio, Hipgnosis, responsible for some of the most recognizable album covers of all time. They formed Hipgnosis in Cambridge during the ferment of the sixties and became rock royalty during the boom time of the seventies. They conjured into existence sights that no one had previously thought possible, produced visuals which popularized music that had previously been considered fringe, and were at the white-hot center of the maddest, funniest and most creative era in the history of popular music.

During this period, record companies didn’t dictate to acts like Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Paul McCartney what their LP covers should look like – Storm and Po did. They made money; they lost money. They did great things; they did silly things. They fell out bitterly; they made up. They never played a note, but they changed music. The film features brand new interviews with Roger Waters, David Gilmour & Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Graham Gouldman of 10cc, Noel Gallagher, and many more. Congrats To Roger Waters/South America Dates 2023

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 11/06/2023 by Tony R18/06/2023

We at AFG want to congratulate Roger Waters and band and crew for a successful 83 date tour around the USA and Europe which has now concluded June 10th in Manchester, England.

If you haven’t already we rely on fans to send in photos and or videos they took at the shows they attend, along with the ticket stubs so we can showcase them in our tour rooms. Be sure to email me tony@pinkfloydz.com  if you have anything you would like us to post along with a review of the show. Congrats again Roger, and good luck in South America this fall. News on South American dates below!

Roger Waters - SOUTH AMERICA 2023 - YouTube

The current run of the show that has been presented as an ‘in the round’ extravaganza in the US and Europe will now be presented as a more traditional stage setup with the stage being at one end of the stadium. See dates and tickets below! Stay tuned as we suspect more shows to be added to South America leg of the tour!

“This Is Not A Drill is a groundbreaking new rock & roll/cinematic extravaganza, performed in the round,” Waters wrote in a statement. “It is a stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to action to love, protect, and share our precious and precarious planet home. The show includes a dozen great songs from Pink Floyd’s Golden Era alongside several new ones — words and music, same writer, same heart, same soul, same man. Could be his last hurrah. Wow! My first farewell tour! Don’t miss it. Love, R.”
