Syd Barret Feature In SHOT! The Mick Rock Documentary

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 03/05/2017 by Col T02/12/2019
Syd Barrett SHOT! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock. Mick Rock about Syd Barrett

SHOT! The Mick Rock Documentary is an odyssey into the colorful and crazy recesses of rock ‘n’ roll’s history. A reckless joyride that delves deep into the mind of rock’s greatest living photographer: Mick Rock.

Told through the distorted lens of rock ‘n’ roll mythology, icon-maker, psychedelic explorer, shambolic poet and custodian of dreams, Mick Rock navigates his story from the glam rock shimmer of London to the snarl of NYC punk, and deep into the new millennium. Awaiting heart surgery after after a series of heart attacks, Mick turns inward to face himself – his past, the present and the future that will be born from the ashes of his resurrection. He stretched his nervous system to the limit to bring us the iconic images of the likes of David Bowie, Syd Barrett, Blondie, Queen, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop. He shot them all and imprinted them on our collective psyche forever.

The long-awaited follow-up, 2017’s Is This The Life We Really Want?, is an unflinching commentary on the modern world and uncertain times.“Waters’ forthcoming LP serves as a natural successor to classic Pink Floyd albums such as Animals and The Wall.”

The album was produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich and includes 12 new musical compositions and studio performances from Waters.Joining Waters and Godrich on the record are Gus Seyffert, Jonathan Wilson, Joey Waronker, Roger Manning, Lee Pardini, Lucius, Jessica Wolfe and Holly Proctor.

The album will be releases in a double 180-gram vinyl LP in a gatefold jacket and a four-panel soft pack CD. All album formats, physical and digital, are now available to pre-order via Amazon and Itunes.

AFG Exclusive : Richard Wright (Zee) : Identity 2017 Album Remix Re-Release

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 21/04/2017 by Col T21/04/2017

Identity is the only album by Zee, a short-lived side project of Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright, a duo partnership consisting of Wright and Dave Harris of New Romantic outfit Fashion, released in 1984. The album was written and produced by Wright and Harris and all the lyrics were penned by Harris.

The album makes heavy use of the Fairlight CMI, a musical synthesizer popularized in the 1980s. This creates a very electronic sound that persists through every track.

Dave Harris has been in touch and has confirmed that he has “remixed and re recorded certain tracks from the Zee album with Richard Wright, with a planned digital release of the original album as it stands and a separate album of re worked songs from ‘Identity’, using Ricks recorded work from 1984. This will involve certain old friends of mine, with whom I have played and conversed with over the years. The new tracks will shine with Ricks posthumous involvement.”

The 2017 release will be available to Pre-order in the next month with details still being finalised, We will have more news on that very shortly.

Dave has been very kind and has sent us an exclusive teaser clip of “Voices”

We hope to be hosting an interview with Dave around the time of release and will be opening the forums for you to post your questions.

You can here the Exclusive teaser audio of “Voices by clicking here.
