Released online today by Pink Floyd, here’s “Dear Pink Floyd…”, a powerful new poem written and performed by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage. Inspired by Pink Floyd and their era-defining album Wish You Were Here, this piece arrives ahead of the album’s 50th anniversary release on December 12th (and is also included in the Deluxe Box Set). To coincide with the release of Simon’s poem, the band’s webpage has launched a dedicated “Dear Pink Floyd” experience. It’s an interactive digital space inviting fans around the world to share their own poems, memories, and reflections inspired by the band’s music. Visitors can listen to Simon’s poem, explore postcards created by fans globally, and submit their own messages and create their own postcards through a simple, guided experience. It’s a nice touch and lets fans honor the band and their music.
