Upcoming Pink Floyd ‘Pompeii’ Sound System Exhibitions
You may recall that back in March, we announced a special screening of Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, held at the end of April at a cinema in Barnsley, UK. The screening featured the band’s original WEM PA system, which provided additional audio alongside the in-house cinema speakers, and it was a smashing success. Now, the owners—CH Vintage Audio—have informed us that they will be presenting additional exhibitions this coming June.

Nick Mason with Chris Hewitt of CH Vintage Audio.
The first will take place at Nick Mason’s Middlewick House Open Garden charity event on June 7–8, which Nick and his wife, Annette, host annually to raise money for two local charities. According to Chris Hewitt, owner of CH Vintage Audio, the re-created Pompeii mixing desk, a vintage Ford Transit, and some of the original equipment will be on display at this year’s garden event in Corsham. If you have not gotten your tickets, you can purchase them here: https://middlewickhouseopengarden.com/
Secondly, the entire PA system will be showcased at this year’s North West Audio Show in Cheshire, taking place June 21–22. The WEM system will be set up outdoors and will feature playback of the newly remixed Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII soundtrack by Steven Wilson! Speaking of which—now that the film and album are officially released, listeners have been giving it extraordinary reviews, with fan feedback overwhelmingly positive. The album is now Pink Floyd’s seventh number-one UK album! Tickets for this event are FREE, and can be claimed by clicking this link.
Chris Hewitt was kind enough to share some photos from the Barnsley screening of the film, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming exhibitions. Many thanks to Chris for the below photos.
