The Black Wrap Campaign
If you’ve been keeping an eye on our social media pages, you might have noticed that yesterday, Pink Floyd’s album covers on Apple Music and other platforms changed to what appears to be black plastic wrap, accompanied by a general description of what each cover depicts. This black wrap of course is a reference to Wish You Were Here and how it originally appeared on store shelves—an idea that came from the band’s album art designer, Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis, concealing the album art of the two men shaking hands.
That being said, today all the official Pink Floyd channels have also switched their themes to this mysterious black wrap… Is an announcement imminent? The 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here is this Friday, 12 September.
