David Gilmour Circus Maximus Footage Surfaces Online in Behind the Scenes Video
Here’s something interesting for those waiting for news on David Gilmour’s next live film/album. As we know, he filmed a few of his shows in Rome this past September during his Luck and Strange tour, and it just so happens that a behind-the-scenes video from director James Tonkin (who also directed Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets: Live at the Roundhouse) surfaced online just a few days ago. It features some of those concert shots, along with high-quality footage of the tour rehearsals and camera setup in Rome. Unfortunately, there’s no music included, as the focus is primarily on the camera equipment used for filming these shows.
Could this mean an announcement is just around the corner? You can bet we’ll be the first to break the news once it happens. In the meantime, have a look at the snippets of footage in this showreel.
Rockonteurs with Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt – S9E16 featuring Andy Newmark
This past week’s episode of Rockonteurs with Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt features Pink Floyd alum and drummer Andy Newmark. As many of you know, Andy is credited with playing drums on “Two Suns In The Sunset” from Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut album, as well as on Roger Waters’ The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking album and tour. He also played on two of David Gilmour’s solo albums: On An Island and Rattle That Lock.
Andy speaks with Gary and Guy about his time as a member of Sly and the Family Stone, as well as his work with John Lennon, Carly Simon, David Bowie, and more. Andy is quite the storyteller—this is one episode you won’t want to miss!
Fingal’s Cave Podcast: Ep.27 – Set the Controls: Lee Harris and the Early Days of Pink Floyd
Remember Lee? He’s been here before.
Lee Harris, guitarist and co-founder of Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, returns to the Fingal’s Cave podcast. Joined by Phil Salathé, they dive into Lee’s early years, his career as co-manager and guitarist for Ian Dury and the Blockheads, and the musical evolution of Pink Floyd between 1967 and 1972—an era covered by the Saucers.
Lee also offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the band, sharing how the songs were selected and revealing why Echoes appears so late in the setlist. You can listen to the full episode on the Fingal’s Cave website, or use the YouTube link below—it’s one you won’t want to miss.
Upcoming Pink Floyd ‘Pompeii’ Sound System Exhibitions
You may recall that back in March, we announced a special screening of Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, held at the end of April at a cinema in Barnsley, UK. The screening featured the band’s original WEM PA system, which provided additional audio alongside the in-house cinema speakers, and it was a smashing success. Now, the owners—CH Vintage Audio—have informed us that they will be presenting additional exhibitions this coming June.

Nick Mason with Chris Hewitt of CH Vintage Audio.
The first will take place at Nick Mason’s Middlewick House Open Garden charity event on June 7–8, which Nick and his wife, Annette, host annually to raise money for two local charities. According to Chris Hewitt, owner of CH Vintage Audio, the re-created Pompeii mixing desk, a vintage Ford Transit, and some of the original equipment will be on display at this year’s garden event in Corsham. If you have not gotten your tickets, you can purchase them here: https://middlewickhouseopengarden.com/
Secondly, the entire PA system will be showcased at this year’s North West Audio Show in Cheshire, taking place June 21–22. The WEM system will be set up outdoors and will feature playback of the newly remixed Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII soundtrack by Steven Wilson! Speaking of which—now that the film and album are officially released, listeners have been giving it extraordinary reviews, with fan feedback overwhelmingly positive. The album is now Pink Floyd’s seventh number-one UK album! Tickets for this event are FREE, and can be claimed by clicking this link.
Chris Hewitt was kind enough to share some photos from the Barnsley screening of the film, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming exhibitions. Many thanks to Chris for the below photos.

Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets and David Gilmour Make Top 10 UK Singles Chart
We are delighted to report that not one but TWO members of Pink Floyd made it into the Top 10 UK singles chart—a feat certainly worth mentioning in 2025.
We’re obviously talking about Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets and David Gilmour, who, since participating in this year’s Record Store Day with exclusive 12″ vinyl releases, have seen those very records chart in the UK’s Top 10 individual best-selling tracks this past week.
Nick Mason’s Saucers’ version of Pink Floyd’s legendary epic Echoes comes in at No. 8, with David Gilmour & Romany Gilmour’s version of Between Two Points (from his recent album Luck and Strange) landing on the charts again—this time at No. 10. A very well-deserved congratulations to all indeed!
Octopus – Syd Barrett – Official Lyrics Video
A new animated lyric video for “Octopus,” a track from Syd Barrett’s acclaimed solo album The Madcap Laughs, is out now on the official Syd Barrett YouTube channel. Created by talented animator Artist on the Border, this video being the most detailed yet, offering a visual deep dive into the 1974 EMI double-album reissue, simply titled Syd Barrett. The visuals highlight the iconic cover art—Syd sitting in a lotus pose, surrounded by a plum, an orange, and a box of matches—originally designed by his friend and longtime Pink Floyd collaborator, Storm Thorgerson. You’ll also spot rare press photos and roughly cut news clippings of Syd from the inner gatefold sleeve—both with and without Pink Floyd—which contribute to the style of the brilliant in-camera practical effects. Truly a feast for the senses!
Additionally, you can enter a competition by sharing the video and commenting with a line from “Octopus” for a chance to win a specially designed poster by Artist on the Border, along with some screen-used ephemera from the video. The competition closes at noon on Monday, April 21!
