In Memoriam: Adrian Maben
It is with deep regret that we share the passing of Adrian Maben, director, producer, and screenwriter, whose work left an indelible mark on music and film.
Born in Scotland in 1942, Adrian is best known to Pink Floyd fans for Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii, the original cinema release and its later expanded editions. In 2025, his legacy was further honored with the restored Pink Floyd at Pompeii MCMLXXII, which was shown in cinemas worldwide.
For many years, visitors to Pompeii’s ancient amphitheatre have discovered Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii: The Exhibition by Adrian Maben. This immersive gallery features over 250 photographs from the filming, behind-the-scenes glimpses, promotional materials, posters, and videos celebrating the fusion of music, history, and visual storytelling.
Later in life, Adrian collaborated with Roger Waters to produce a documentary DVD and the double CD Ça Ira, continuing his dedication to artistic exploration.
Adrian Maben passed away on October 28, 2025. He died in Ivry-sur-Seine, France at the age of 83.
