Nick Mason Custom Action Figure by Lightning Boltz Action Figures

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 04/10/2024 by Tony R05/10/2024

Artist David J. McGurk has created a custom action figure of our beloved Pink Floyd drummer, Nick Mason. This classic 3.75 inch figure captures Nick’s appearance from the early 1970s, particularly during the filming of Pink Floyd’s Live at Pompeii in 1971. It is presented in a retro looking blister pack featuring gorgeous artwork of Nick on the cardback. Gary Kemp of Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets has shared of photo of this very figure he brought to Nick as a present, which you can see the post here on Gary’s Instagram.

Pink Floyd Sells Music Catalog and Name and Likeness to Sony for $400 Million

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 04/10/2024 by Tony R04/10/2024

Tuesday, Oct 1st, it was reported by UK’s Financial Times that Pink Floyd have sold their music catalog, along with their name and likeness to Sony for approximately $400 million. People Magazine Online reported that sources close to the matter told the outlet that ownership of the band’s likeness means the purchaser would profit from the sale of merchandise as well as other entities that could come along, such as television spin-offs and films.

Pink Floyd’s deal did come with stipulations, only their recorded rights were included, not any for the band’s songwriting. Before this week’s deal with Sony, the band tried for at least two years to sell their catalog, and had reportedly been in talks to do so with major companies such as Warner Music, BMG and Hipgnosis. The sale is one of the largest of many in recent years. We will keep you informed about any developments related to this topic, including upcoming catalog releases and new projects.

Baby Lemonade – Syd Barrett – Official Lyrics Video

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 26/09/2024 by Tony R26/09/2024

Yet another remarkable piece from Artist on the Border has been shared on the Syd Barrett Official YouTube channel, this one in the form of a collage style animated lyric video. “Baby Lemonade,” served as the opening number for Syd’s second solo album, “Barrett.” Recorded in early 1970 with the support of David Gilmour, Rick Wright, and Jerry Shirley, the song features a chord sequence that Gilmour captured spontaneously while Syd was warming up on the guitar. Additionally, “Baby Lemonade” was performed during Syd’s guest appearance on John Peel’s Top Gear in February 1970.

According to the video creator, the animation for “Baby Lemonade” is a collage triplet. One part Syd Barrett mural. One part obscure Syd-references contest (How many can you spot?) and then there’s “Fart Enjoy”. You can watch here to find them all:

Body Count – “Comfortably Numb featuring David Gilmour” Out Now

Pink Floyd - A Fleeting Glimpse Posted on 20/09/2024 by Tony R05/10/2024

Shaking things up in the rock scene, Body Count, the heavy metal band led by rapper Ice-T, has released a new single today, an interesting rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” featuring the one and only David Gilmour guest soloing on guitar! Although this collaboration may seem unexpected, it provides a unique take on the classic song. David is quoted saying: “The initial contact from Ice-T was for permission to use the song, but I thought I might offer to play on it as well. I like the new lyrics, they’re talking about the world we’re living in now, which is quite scary.” You can listen to the song here:
