Have Pink Floyd split up?

October 2003. Just days before his untimely death, Steve O'Rourke confirmed direct to A Fleeting Glimpse that David Gilmour was working on a "solo album"

"I never want to say we're done completely, but we may be,"
" I don't want to be touring anymore. I'm fifty-five; it's a young man's game."
“I cant see anything in the near future myself, I’ve been enjoying doing things on a different scale, downsizing a bit. I feel no need to do a big tour again-if ever, at my hugely advanced age.”
~ David Gilmour Oct & Nov 2001

January 2001

A Fleeting Glimpse was contacted by somebody very highly placed in the Pink Floyd camp, to say that there are no plans at all to tour or release a new album in 2001.

There is some encouraging news though.

David Gilmour has been writing a few songs in the studio, but as to if they will ever see the light of day is anybody's guess.
