The contributor and photographer Ian O Morrison of these well preserved pictures attended this Pink Floyd concert in 1971. The show was held at the so called 'Pill Centre' which is in fact the building that houses the University Health Centre at Edinburgh University. The show was organised at the last minute by a friend of Ian's named Jim Fisher. Also at the concert was Richard R Brown who said the set list consisted of Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, One Of These Days and others. He said that "it was a crackin' gig, especially for Floyd fans. It was barely publicised. There were still tickets left on the afternoon of the gig! " |

* There has been some debate as to the actual date of this concert. Ian Morrison & Richard Brown have both supplied info that leads us to believe that the concert was held on June 2nd 1971. It should be noted however that the book 'Embryo' (A Pink Floyd Chronology) has an entry for June 2nd 1971 that says "The band all but finished recording of the music for Echoes on this date". We are of the view that Embryo is mistaken. Well known Pink Floyd researcher David Parker has also confirmed that in his opinion 2 June 1971 is the most logical and likely date. |
